Canadian PM Pronounced Dead After Consistent Rick Rolling

June 23, 2009 4 comments

Words could not describe what transpired at 24 Sussex Drive on the morning of June 23rd, but police believe the logical thing that killed him was simply disastrous. The police described the details of the Rick Roll saying to reporters “Were no strangers to love.. you know the rules and so do I.” The shock of the crowd was just too hard for some as they burst out of the room being utterly disgusted. Police have found what seems to be a transcript of a conversation between Stephen Harper, Dick Cheney, and the main suspect Peter McKay.

Peter McKay sent Harper a link, and it led to a Rick Roll which has been known to kill people, but it is rare to happen to politicians. Harper had 53 Firefox windows open with Rick Roll when the police arrived. He is believed to have make a last gasp for the door to get away from the roll but failed when he rolled instead of walked. Peter McKay is still at large, he is armed and dangerous.

As much I dislike Obama…

As much as I hate the current president of the United States, Barack Obama. A plan he unraveled today to bring a higher speed of rail service to the US of A. It’s all probably because of the sucess in Europe. I am a big fan of what Europe and France have done with high speed train systems. Now wait for it… HARPER, this man needs to make a move on the high speed train front. It would probably help the green movement he has been trying to make lately. Or just make him look more “green” Then the rest of the parties. Although this is a short post this is honestly the first time since Obama closing Gitmo, where I’ve liked something he has done.

State of the Union Address, eh?

December 4, 2008 Leave a comment

What’s his name. Our Prime Minister… ah! Stephen Harper. For the first time in Canadian history, the Prime Minister of Canada asked the television networks to take time out to air his little tape, to talk to the people. Well, Harper seems to have finally come out of his hermit hole, or at least almost. He just went bickering on and on about his party’s plans for the economy, which is all good.

I just found this as a biiiig high time in Canadian history, that we have just had something so similar to the State of the Union Address Americans regularly get from their Presidents. I’m just wondering what the Canadian name for the Address will be.

All jokes aside, it was good to see. Harper chose his words very carefully and gave a strong pitch to Canadians all over. Implying greatly that a coalition government should not happen as the people choose their government. Too bad for him, even though it was late, Stephane Dion’s tape soon arrived. Dion talked to Canadians about how the coalition government should happen because the Conservatives have lost the Confidence of the House. It seems Dion’s tape was hurried on a webcam and sent packing. His words were, well, he was fighting to make sure people could understand his Frenchie-English. But, Dion made some strong points too; on par with Harper.

And… following that were Gille Duceppe’s words on the coalition, and as well as Jack Layton’s live speech outside of the locked doors of Parliament. That was quite the symbol Layton chose, but it helped him along the way. So, I’m just outlining a bit of what happened, though Duceppe and Layton’s words followed the same routine of Stephane Dion arguing against Stephen Harper and his failed minority government.

The whole hour long or so televised special by television networks was interesting, but not important enough for one to be desperate to hear what’s going on. I’m still keen on seeing what happens next!

Conservatives win 16 more seats. Most of them were really what the Liberals lost. Everyone seems to blame Dion for this loss; but I can’t possibly imagine that to be it.

It quite clearly is the massive attack campaigns put forth by the Conservative government. I did not see a single Liberal commercial in the media or anything of that sort by the Liberals to defend themselves.

The NDP did step up with attack ads on the Conservatives, what did they get? More seats in Parliament!

Sad for May to not even be elected. I think she should have just picked another riding and she most likely would have won. Though to say, she got on the debates and got the highest vote counting for the Green Party, which is astounding!

But again, what a waste of an election. Another minority government. The same leader with his same sweater platforms, no care for the environment or people’s jobs. Really, just a Bush lackie. That is $300 million wasted on a foolish and pointless election.

What a waste of everyone’s time.

Canadian Party Leader Debate

October 10, 2008 Leave a comment

Yeah yeah I’m always late on this stuff. Sorry, work and school and laziness =)

Excuses for the win. Anywho, I watched. LAST WEEK. Not on YouTube šŸ™‚

It was a great debate. Very informative, and… I think Jack Layton did a really good job. I loved how Stephen Harper initiated the attack on the Liberal campaign and Stephane Dion; then all of a sudden the other four party leaders completely blasted Harper and the Conservatives for their failure of a government for the past two years. I believe they were right on.

Another thing I believe is that the Conservatives are more and more like the Republicans of the States. Harper and the Conservatives as of yet do not understand the Carbon Tax. I actually got the Liberal campaign booklet and read everything on the Carbon Tax, through every detail and what Dion says was spot on. Although in my last post on the election I said the Carbon Tax was quite useless; I have seen the light! It is a great method to punish those who are to hurt our environment and give back to the people as another benefit. I hope the Conservatives understand this.

Now, another thing I need to add is that… WOW! I am so surprised about Elizabeth May and her Green Party’s platform. It’s quite amazing I must say. I thought as a special interest party environment and a few other things were all the Green Party had, but to my constant undisputed belief; the Green Party had a lot to offer the average Canadian and Elizabeth May fought on par with all the other party leaders. If I had a second party to vote for other than the NDP, it would be the Green Party all the way.

I found the Bloc Quebecois leader Gille Duceppe quite… How should I say, useless? Although he was right about many things, he just seemed like he was unnecessary on the debate table. Though I found him to say that he would never become Prime Minister an admirable thing. At least he knows where he stands and does not act as if he could topple over all other parties with what there is available to the Bloc at this moment.

Now, Harper just got attacked throughout the debate. Of course he is the current government and that is to be expected; but in such an incredulous amount? That I don’t think so. I think Harper and the Conservatives deserved every attack aimed at them. Canada has fallen into deficit and dropped out of one of the best Kyoto protocols and even entered Afghanistan and the Conservatives had the nerve to cut funds to the arts! The arts a major thing to the Canadian people, and the defence or “repair” of Afghanistan was not an interest Canada was so strong to pursue. Canada to many Canadians, myself included has faced away from it’s peaceful presence in the world.

The Conservatives have offered no plan for the next government andĀ  the people are completely lost about the Conservatives. I am appalled to see many die-hard Conservatives tell me that they’re just voting on what the last government was about. I believe Harper should understand what responsibilities he really has. Just becauseĀ  you cut 95, 000 jobs and created 100, 000 is nothing to be proud of. The 95, 000 lost were high paying, good jobs to raise a family on and live a good life. The 100, 000 are labour jobs by working at minimum wage. Harper relied on this so much during the debate, and I was so greatly angered by him just praying on this argument. I don’t think he knows exactly what it’s like to lose a good job and try to find one on par with the last. Another thing is that the new offenders act by Harper is disgusting. Fourteen year olds should NOT spend life in prison with adults. That is conflicting of the rights of a child.

Only one big thought on the Liberals. I like their campaign a lot; and pragmatically, they have fed off very well from the other parties to improve themselves for today’s day and age. But Stephane Dion as the leader is something I do not like. Yes, he is strong in French, but during the debate I could not fully make out whatever he was saying. I think if he wants to see himself as Prime Minister, he needs to improve on his English language skills and better communication with his ideas as I don’t think he can speak of them so well as he should. This might be mean, but guys, this is a candidate for the highest position in our country.

Hehehe… Time to comment on my NDP! Jack Layton! I think he might just cut being a good Prime Minister. It seems over the years he has his platform well memorized and it is very beneficial to the average Canadian. His attacks on the Conservatives were very well done. Why? Because he backed it up with what the NDP would do in exchange. I love the health care plan to get more doctors. It is something stolenĀ  from Cuba, but then again, if it worked in Cuba, then surely of course, it would work in Canada. The CMA is greatly diminishing potential doctors and it is time to get those oldies to realize that public healthcare is the way to go. Private healthcare is not in the interest of Canada.

The debate was very good, and I wish it was longer. Eight questions were not enough. Especially when immigration was not tackled at all; I think this is a major issue that should have been questioned.

Terrible Speech Writers

I found it greatly funny that Harper’s speech recently was a complete copy of the Australian PM’s speech in 2003.

It was great to see the amazing and useless news coverage on this. I can’t blame Stephen Harper though, since I hope we all know that the leaders don’t make their own speeches, they simply hire “speech writers” to write speeches for them.

There’s a rumour that Harper desperately needed a speech and his writer under pressure found an old copy. Well, that speech writer resigned. Plagiarism at such a political level; it reminds me of the kids who would copy off others in school. Ha.
