Highway of Warmth

The rain is pouring,
and the clouds above are darkened with sadness,

Down below,

It is cold with a merry warmth,
The steam of spirits wisps away,

As the cars go by,
With the heat ever on,

A child wakes to see,
Upon a Christmas Eve,

To learn the truth,
That bewitches his eyes,

It is not merely rain he sees on the roads of yonder,
It is simply the melting snow,

Of a winter wonderland,
The snow that was crumpled once,

Is now an endless sea of liquid,
Wavering and shivering,

Upon command of the wind,
With the sun on the other side of the road,

He commands the night’s warmth from behind the moon,
That shines the path.
